Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.

  1. Remove the upper B-pillar trim panel.
    Refer to: B-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the bolt and position front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner D-ring aside.
    Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

  1. Position the seatbelt shoulder height adjuster.
    1. Remove the bolt.
      Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
    1. Rotate the seatbelt shoulder height adjuster 90 degrees clockwise.
  1. Remove the seatbelt shoulder height adjuster.

Installation

NOTE: During installation, make sure the seatbelt webbing is not twisted and the seatbelts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Check the seatbelt system for correct operation.
    Refer to: Seatbelt System Functional Tests (501-20A Seatbelt Systems, General Procedures).

    Preliminary Inspection

    Visually inspect the CV joints, housing, boots, and clamps for obvious signs of mechanical damage.
    If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step
    If the cause is not visually evident, verify the symptom and REFER to Symptom Chart: NVH.
