Removal

  WARNING: Do not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or have an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures may be present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

  WARNING: Do not carry personal electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers or audio equipment of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures may be present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

  WARNING: Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an evaporative emission (EVAP) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures may be present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
    Refer to: Jacking and Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
  1. Disconnect the EVAP canister electrical connector.
  1. Disconnect the quick connect couplings.
    Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00) .
  1. Detach the fuel line routing clip from the EVAP canister and position the line aside.
  1. Remove the bolts and the EVAP canister.
    Torque: 124 lb.in (14 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
