Removal

  WARNING: Do not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or have an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures may be present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the engine appearance cover retainers, release the engine appearance cover from the rear retainers and then remove the engine appearance cover.
    Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
    1. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector.
    1. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve quick release couplings.
      Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00) .
    1. Detach the hose routing clips and slide the EVAP canister purge valve off the intake manifold bracket. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
