Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the brake disc shield.
    Refer to: Brake Disc Shield (206-04 Rear Disc Brake, Removal and Installation).
  1. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector and detach the retainers.
  1. Using compressed air, clean the area surrounding the rear wheel speed sensor.
  1. Detach the wiring retainer, remove the bolt and the rear wheel speed sensor.
    Torque: 150 lb.in (17 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Before installing a new sensor, inspect the sensor housing to make sure the sensor cavity is clean and free of foreign material.

    Removal

    With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position the vehicle on a hoist.
    Refer to: Jacking and Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
    Remove the bolts and the transmission shield.
