Lincoln Navigator: Front End Body Panels / Active Grille Shutter Actuator. Removal and Installation
Removal
Upper active grille shutter actuator

Remove the upper active grille shutter.
Refer to: Active Grille Shutter (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).

Release the clips, and remove the linkage.

Remove the active grille shutter vanes.

NOTE:
The upper active grille shutter actuator is not
interchangeable with the lower active grill shutter actuator. Do not
attempt to replace one actuator with the other.
Remove the retainer and the upper active grille shutter actuator.
Lower active grille shutter actuator

Remove the front bumper cover.
Refer to: Front Bumper Cover (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and Installation).

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Remove the clip.

NOTE:
The upper active grille shutter actuator is not
interchangeable with the lower active grill shutter actuator. Do not
attempt to replace one actuator with the other.
Remove the lower active grille shutter actuator.
Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Remove the cowl panel grille.

Other information:
Bring the engine to normal operating temperature. Connect
the Vacuum/Pressure Tester to the intake manifold. Run the engine at the
specified idle speed.
The vacuum gauge should read between 51-74 kPa (15-22 in-Hg)
depending upon the engine condition and the altitude at which the test
is conducted...
