Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the steering column opening trim panel.
  1. Remove the bolts and the steering column reinforcement panel.
    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  1. Remove the bolt and the RBM .
    Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. If a new RBM is being installed, using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the RBM following the on-screen instructions.

    Preliminary Inspection

    Visually inspect the CV joints, housing, boots, and clamps for obvious signs of mechanical damage.
    If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step
    If the cause is not visually evident, verify the symptom and REFER to Symptom Chart: NVH.
