Lincoln Navigator: Exterior Trim and Ornamentation / Rear Fender Splash Shield. Removal and Installation
Removal
NOTE:

All vehicles

Remove the RH side rear wheel.
Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04A Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).
Long wheelbase
-
Remove the nuts.
Torque:
28 lb.in (3.2 Nm)
-
Remove the rear fender splash shield.
-
Remove the screw.
Torque:
13 lb.in (1.5 Nm)
-
Remove the pin-type retainers.
-
Remove the push pin retainers and the rear fender splash shield.
Short wheelbase
-
Remove the nuts.
Torque:
28 lb.in (3.2 Nm)
-
Remove the rear fender splash shield.
-
Remove the screw.
Torque:
13 lb.in (1.5 Nm)
-
Remove the pin-type retainers.
-
Remove the push pin retainers and the rear fender splash shield.
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Repair
NOTE:
Do not machine the brake discs for any brake noise concern
(squeal, squeak, moan, groan, grunt, grind, etc.). Brake disc machining
is allowed if one of the below conditions is present;
Excessive corrosion/rust and/or pitting on the braking surface...
Removal
NOTICE:
If installing a new A/C compressor due to an internal failure of the
old unit, carry out the following procedures to remove contamination
from the A/C system. Failure to remove contamination from the A/C
system, if present, will result in poor A/C performance and/or damage to
the new A/C compressor and other components...
