Lincoln Navigator: Automatic Transmission External Controls / Gear Shift Module (GSM). Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Detach and position aside the ambient light bar and disconnect the wiring harness retainer.
   

1. Remove the screws, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the GSM .
   

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
   

1. 1. Seat both sides of the ambient light bar around the GSM .
      
   2. Seat the passenger side of the ambient light bar.
      
   3. Seat the center right of the ambient light bar.
      
   4. Seat the center left of the ambient light bar.
      
   5. Verify the P and D buttons move up and down freely.
