Lincoln Navigator: Fuel Tank and Lines - 3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS) / Fuel Tank. Removal and Installation

 Removal
 NOTE: 
 If the fuel pump is operational, connect the fuel tanker 
hose to the engine supply hose. Connect a scan tool to the vehicle and 
command the fuel pump to runIf the fuel pump is operational, connect the
 fuel tanker hose to the engine supply hose. Connect a scan tool to the 
vehicle and command the fuel pump to run.
 
 NOTE:

 - 
 With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. 
		
 Refer to: Jacking and Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
 
 - 
 Release the fuel system pressure.

 -

 - 
 LWB shown and SWB is typical. 
		
 If equipped, remove the nuts and the skid plate.
 Torque: 
 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
 - 
 
 Remove the quick connectors.
 Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00 Fuel System - General Information - 3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS))
 .
 
 - 
 On both sides.
 
 - 
 
 Remove and discard the rear stabilizer bar bracket nuts.
 Torque: 
 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
 
 - 
 
 Lower the rear stabilizer bar.
 
 
 - 
 
 Remove and discard the rear stabilizer bar stud plates.
 
 
 - 
 On both sides
 
 - 
 
 Inspect and thoroughly clean both sides of the frame bracket mounting surfaces.
 
 
 - 
 
 Insert the new stud plates into the frame bracket holes.
 
 
 - 
 
 - 
 
 Disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe vent tube quick connector.

 .
 
 
 - 
 
 Loosen the clamp and position the fuel filler pipe hose aside.
 Torque: 
 34 lb.in (3.8 Nm)
 
 - 
 
 Remove the fuel tank support straps from the vehicle.
 Use the General Equipment: Powertrain Jack
 Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block
 Torque: 
 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
 - 
 
 Lower the fuel tank to access electrical connectors.
 
 - 
 
 Disconnect the electrical connectors.
 
 - 
 
 Remove the fuel tank.
 
 - 
 If the fuel tank is being replaced, remove the fuel pump
 and sender unit and drain the fuel tank using the fuel tanker.If the 
fuel tank is being replaced, remove the fuel pump and sender unit and 
drain the fuel tank using the fuel tanker.

 Use Special Service Tool: 292-00004
  Fuel Tanker 100 GPM.
Installation

 To install, reverse the removal procedure.
