Lincoln Navigator: Automatic Transmission - 10-Speed Automatic Transmission – 10R80 / Transmission Support Insulator. Removal and Installation

Removal

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
   Refer to: Jacking and Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
   

1. Remove the transmission support crossmember.
   Refer to: Transmission Support Crossmember (502-02 Full Frame and Body Mounting, Removal and Installation).
   

Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) vehicles

1. Remove the bolt and the LH isolator cap.
   

1. Remove and discard the transmission support insulator bolts and washers.
   

1. Remove the transmission support insulator.
   

Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) vehicles

1. Remove the bolt and the LH isolator cap.
   

1. Remove and discard the transmission support insulator bolts.
   

1. Remove the transmission support insulator.
   

Installation

Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) vehicles

1. Install the transmission support insulator.
   

1. • NOTE: Bolt washers are not required.

     Loosely install the new transmission support insulator bolts.
     
   • Tighten the transmission support insulator bolts in the sequence shown.
     Torque: 76 lb.ft (103 Nm)

1. Install the LH isolator cap and the bolt.
   Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)

Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) vehicles

1. Install the transmission support insulator.
   

1. Loosely install the new transmission support insulator bolts.
   

1. Tighten the transmission support insulator bolts in the sequence shown.
   Torque: 76 lb.ft (103 Nm)

1. Install the LH isolator cap and the bolt.
   Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)

All vehicles

1. Install the transmission support crossmember.
   Refer to: Transmission Support Crossmember (502-02 Full Frame and Body Mounting, Removal and Installation).
