PINPOINT TEST A: UNIVERSAL TRANSMITTER IS INOPERATIVE

  • Interior lighting concern
  • Universal transmitter (part of the LH sun visor)
A1 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE UNIVERSAL TRANSMITTER
  • Check the illumination of the universal transmitter by pressing one of the buttons.

Does the indicator on the universal transmitter illuminate?
Yes GO to A2
No GO to A3

A2 PROGRAM A HAND-HELD TRANSMITTER TO THE UNIVERSAL TRANSMITTER
  • NOTE: The customer's hand-held transmitter is required when programming the universal transmitter. Program the universal transmitter. Refer to the Owner's Literature.

Does the universal transmitter program successfully?
Yes The universal transmitter is OK. VERIFY the receiver unit operates correctly.
No INSTALL a new LH sun visor.

A3 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE LH (LEFT-HAND) VANITY MIRROR LAMP
  • Verify the operation of the LH vanity mirror lamp.
    REFER to: Interior Lighting (417-02 Interior Lighting, Diagnosis and Testing).

Does the LH vanity mirror lamp operate correctly?
Yes INSTALL a new LH sun visor.
No Diagnose the interior lighting concern.

    NOTE: Use the hex-holding feature to prevent the stud from turning while removing the nut.

    Remove and discard the 2 rear stabilizer bar link nuts and remove the rear stabilizer bar link.
    Torque: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)
