Removal

NOTE: Only worn or damaged bushings need to be replaced.

Remove the axle assembly.
Refer to: Axle Assembly (205-03 Front Drive Axle/Differential, Removal and Installation).

Measure and record the width of the gap between the bushing front lip and the housing.

Using the special tools, remove the axle tube bushing.
Use Special Service Tool: 205-371 (T96T-5638-E) Remover, Front Axle Mounting Bushing Cup. , 205-374 (T96T-5638-H) Installer, Front Axle Mounting Bushing Drawbolt. , 205-527 Remover/Installer, Front Differential Housing Bushing.

Using the special tools, remove the rear housing bushing.
Use Special Service Tool: 204-186 (T95T-5638-AH) Remover, Front Differential Housing Bushing. , 205-371 (T96T-5638-E) Remover, Front Axle Mounting Bushing Cup. , 205-374 (T96T-5638-H) Installer, Front Axle Mounting Bushing Drawbolt. , 205-527 Remover/Installer, Front Differential Housing Bushing.

NOTE: The drive pinion flange only needs to be removed if the front housing bushing is being removed.
Remove the drive pinion flange.
Refer to: Drive Pinion Flange and Seal (205-03 Front Drive Axle/Differential, Removal and Installation).

Using the special tools, remove the front housing bushing.
Use Special Service Tool: 205-371 (T96T-5638-E) Remover, Front Axle Mounting Bushing Cup. , 205-374 (T96T-5638-H) Installer, Front Axle Mounting Bushing Drawbolt. , 205-527 Remover/Installer, Front Differential Housing Bushing.

Installation

Using the special tools, install the axle tube bushing.
Use Special Service Tool: 204-187 (T95T-5638-BH) Installer, Front Differential Housing Bushing. , 205-371 (T96T-5638-E) Remover, Front Axle Mounting Bushing Cup. , 205-374 (T96T-5638-H) Installer, Front Axle Mounting Bushing Drawbolt. , 205-376 (T96T-5638-K) Remover, Front Axle Mounting Bushing.

Using the special tools, install the rear housing bushing.
Use Special Service Tool: 204-187 (T95T-5638-BH) Installer, Front Differential Housing Bushing. , 205-371 (T96T-5638-E) Remover, Front Axle Mounting Bushing Cup. , 205-374 (T96T-5638-H) Installer, Front Axle Mounting Bushing Drawbolt. , 205-376 (T96T-5638-K) Remover, Front Axle Mounting Bushing.

Using the special tools, install the front housing bushing.
Use Special Service Tool: 204-186 (T95T-5638-AH) Remover, Front Differential Housing Bushing. , 204-187 (T95T-5638-BH) Installer, Front Differential Housing Bushing. , 205-289 (T89P-1249-A) Installer, Wheel Hub Dust Seal. , 205-374 (T96T-5638-H) Installer, Front Axle Mounting Bushing Drawbolt. , 205-527 Remover/Installer, Front Differential Housing Bushing.

Install the drive pinion flange.
Refer to: Drive Pinion Flange and Seal (205-03 Front Drive Axle/Differential, Removal and Installation).

Install the axle assembly.

Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
Refer to: Jacking and Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

NOTE: Use the hex-holding feature to prevent the stud from turning while removing the nut.

Remove and discard the 2 rear stabilizer bar link nuts and remove the rear stabilizer bar link.
Torque: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)
